The band is MAIMED FOR LIFE. The basement was Shannon's. Shannon had quite a few parties/shows in her basement that summer (1985) since her mom was in Germany for the whole summer and her sister Tiff ran away from home. They just propped Tiff's mattress up against the wall and had the shows in her bedroom. The show actually started out at the Vinyl Fetish/Taste of Thailand warehouse, which was a great venue except it was too close to the police station. Pent Up Aggression opened the show and the police raided it. There were probably 100 people there. Shannon just said, let's have the show at my house! Everybody got in cars and drove over to the South Side. Punk rockers just took over the neighborhood. The other bands that night were DIATRIBE and U.P.S. (Useless Pieces of Shit) from Tucson, AZ. Also, a couple days later the Dead Milkmen were in town and they played in Shannon's basement and Maimed for Life were still around and they played too. The basement was packed and there was a window that kids were stage diving into. I remember VICTIM'S FAMILY from San Francisco played a party there before that. I think it was the night after the 4th of July show at Holiday Park."
