Checkered Radio was a Drake radio program broadcasted through public access television. It was basically a TV show of DJs playing music.

Checkered Radio was done by a Chicago-area native and ska fanatic named Derek Slauson, as well as another guy who's name escapes me. For a couple hours on Saturday afternoons, they would play a mix of all styles of ska.

The format of being on TV prompted a lot of phone calls of people requesting that the DJs wave to them or do something.
